Things Motivated people do on daily basis

People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.
-Zig Ziglar

1. They set goals

Highly motivated people are always working for something. They know what they want, and they search for ways to achieve it. They are all for setting goals. They always have  goals which are SMART:

  • Simple
  • Measurable
  • Attainable
  • Realistic
  • Time-driven

When they set themselves a goal, they are  specific as possible. “Lose 5 pounds” is a better goal than “lose some weight,” because it gives you a clear idea of what success looks like. Knowing exactly what you want to achieve keeps you motivated until you get there. Also, think about the specific actions that need to be taken to reach your goal. Just promising you’ll “eat less” or “sleep more” is too vague — be clear and precise. “I’ll be in bed by 10 pm on weeknights” leaves no room for doubt about what you need to do, and whether or not you’ve actually done it.

“If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.” ~ Jim Rohn

goals

2. They move on

Highly motivated people don’t dwell on problems. If they mess up on some thing, they don’t try to push it away. They don’t let their mistakes stop them from achieving their goals. Instead, they look at these mistakes as nothing but simple moments in their life. They accept them, learn from them, and move to the next thing on their to-do list.

“You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don’t try to forget the mistakes, but you don’t dwell on it. You don’t let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.”  – Johnny Cash

hardwork

3.They work hard

There’s no way around this. If you are afraid of hard work, success is far less likely to come your way. You have to be ready to make sacrifices, work long hours to achieve your dreams, and pick yourself up after every setback.

Hard work is what separates the best from the greats. Talent alone is no assurance of success.

“It seems the harder I work, the more luck I have.” —Thomas Jefferson

4.They don’t go a day without giving thanks.

They realize the importance of being grateful. Not just once in a while either‒every single day. Start each day by giving thanks for your life and the lives of those your love most, and you’ll find your levels of motivation soar to levels you never knew they could reach.

“‘Enough’ is a feast. Buddhist proverb

5.They surround themselves with other highly motivated people.

Your surroundings have a colossal impact on yourself, whether you believe it or not. Spend most of your time with like-minded people to get inspired and learn from them, instead of going downhill around naysayers and haters.

It is far better to be alone, than to be in bad company-George Washington

6.They Build their willpower muscle:

Your self-control “muscle” is just like the other muscles in your body — when it doesn’t get much exercise, it becomes weaker over time. But when you give it regular workouts by putting it to good use, it will grow stronger and stronger, and better able to help you successfully reach your goals.

To build willpower, take on a challenge that requires you to do something you’d honestly rather not do. Give up high-fat snacks, do 100 sit-ups a day, stand up straight when you catch yourself slouching, try to learn a new skill. When you find yourself wanting to give in, give up, or just not bother — don’t. Start with just one activity, and make a plan for how you will deal with troubles when they occur  It will be hard in the beginning, but it will get easier, and that’s the whole point. As your strength grows, you can take on more challenges and step-up your self-control workout.

“You may fetter my leg, but Zeus himself cannot get the better of my free will.” – Epictetus

failure

7.They aren’t afraid of failure

There’s a popular saying which states that success happens outside your comfort zone. It’s true. In order to become successful, you have to push yourself and suppress your fear of failure. Failure isn’t the worst thing that can happen. At least you can learn something when you make a mistake. No trying is the worst.

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” – Thomas Edison
