Never Let the Negativity Get to You. There Are Going to Be a Lot of People You Have to Plow through, but as Long You Believe in Yourself, That’s All That Matters -Becky G
When dealing with our struggles, there are often people that will become aggravated and say things that are less than kind. Whether the words of negativity deal directly with what we struggle with or are just about life in general, we have to learn to kindly and calmly work through these negative feelings. Many times, when negative words are spoken, we feel the harsh blow right away. We begin to feel stressed and everything that we have grown to dislike about ourselves seems to be magnified.
There is no doubt that these negative feelings can be hard to ignore. How do you ignore words spoken so cruelly, especially when they are said by the ones you love? So many times, these negative feelings are brought on by those who are meant to care for us putting us down. It’s one thing to try to ignore the mean comments of strangers, but a completely different thing to ignore comments from those who we are close to.
What we have to keep in mind though, is that we are working hard to get through our fears and other issues. As long as we are trying our hardest to make progress, and as long as we know that we are good people with good intentions, we shouldn’t let others bring us down. I know what it’s like to hear negative underhanded comments and I know how hard it can be to challenge those negative words; to tell ourselves that we do not have to be products of these negative comments.
Reminding ourselves of our progress, of our talents, and of our strengths is the best way to overcome feelings of negativity and insecurity. While it may be tempting to always argue with those who are mean to us, the only thing that does is upset those around us and ourselves. We are too wonderful to constantly bring ourselves down. We need to constantly take steps to make progress and constantly feed ourselves positive words of encouragement!
I enjoy writing and sharing my experiences with others. For many years, I have struggled with anxiety and know how difficult it can be to deal with something so seemingly limiting. I have loved to write since I was in first grade and hope to one day be an author. My hobbies include: writing, reading, watching TV, and working hard to get through my anxiety.
