11 Things must give up to achieve success in life

”Somebody once told me the definition of hell:

“On your last day on earth, the person you became will meet the person you could have become.” — Anonymous

Sometimes, to become successful and get closer to the person we can become, we don’t need to add more things — we need to give up on some of them.

Getting successful  and rich in life is not easy.It takes lots of handwork and persistence. It takes discipline, focus, and a set of core values that guide you around the emotions and stress of daily combat.

You can easily get sidetracked with all the strategies and resources available to you with the modern technology .These tools and strategies are constantly changing on daily basis..You find yourself chasing tactics one after another, hoping that you will eventually get rich with one of them.

You try one ,it does not work for you and then change to another strategy which again does not work for you and henceforth. As you repeat that cycle, the idea of becoming a millionaire becomes blurry. What used to be very clear now seems frantically out of reach.

One things thats for sure that all rich and successful people know  are not only the things and habits that are to be done but also teh things that are to be given up and not be done what so ever. Here are eleven things you have to give up to achieve success.

1.Give up on need to be perfect:

Perfectionism is based on the false belief that if we do things perfectly. We can avoid failure. You just need to be honest about those mistakes and learn from the results that you achieve. It does you no good to pretend like you’re more successful that you really are. It stops you from doing the things that would help you achieve your goals.

Its about taking those baby steps on everyday basis that take you towards the bigger goal in your life. Its always about to try and do your best  and move ahead on regular basis.

Always favor progress over perfection.

2.Give up on being a know-it-all:

Don’t be that person that cuts everyone off mid-sentence. Listen to people. Don’t interrupt your employees or your customers. Don’t roll your eyes and stomp your feet while you wait for the person who is talking to stop. That’s selfish and shortsighted. And besides coming off as completely arrogant, you are missing out on important lessons by acting that way.

Yes, for surely ,a lot of things we hear are irrelevant ,unhelpful and the stuff that is criticism and insane. But if you can listen long enough ,you might get that little important information that happens to be the next essence that takes you ahead on your road to success

Listen for those moments. Ignore everything else.

3.Give up on Saying YES to things that do not support your Goals:

Successful people know it fully well that to get some thing in life more than average is possible only by sacrificing more than average. To be able to say NO to things that give results of instant gratification for the goals that would give long term fruition.

4.Give up Whinning:

“It’s not about the cards you’re dealt, but how you play the hand.”
― Randy Pausch, The Last Lecture

Successful people know that they are responsible for their life, no matter their starting point, weaknesses, and past failures.

Stop being the person who has to help “keep everyone else’s feet on the ground.” That’s just an excuse for you to whine and mope and be unnecessarily negative. No one likes a whiner. That’s just the truth.

5.Give up expecting life to be always fair

Stop pretending like you’re the only one who has bad, unexpected circumstances happen to them. Everyone lives in the same sometimes-erratic universe. You didn’t get it any worse than anyone else. Enough already with the theatrics. Rich people don’t get that way by sulking.

Always remember no matter how strong you are, life will beat you to your knees and make you fall.Success is not about falling and getting the hits ,its about getting back after the falling and hits.

6.Give up on  the fixed mindset:

“The future belongs to those who learn more skills and combine them in creative ways.” ― Robert Greene, Mastery

Successful people fully understand the value of the “Learn all” person over the “know all” person. They invest an immense amount of time on a daily basis to develop a growth mindset, acquire new knowledge, learn new skills and change their perception so that it can benefit their lives.

Remember, who you are today, it’s not who you have to be tomorrow.

7.Give upon not  taking responsibility:

In any area of your life, what you do has consequences. Sometimes those are good. Other times you are left with regrets. Actions have results. That’s a universal truth. It never changes. You will always get the results deserved by the activity that you’re doing.

You need to believe that what you do can make a difference. Hard work matters. A kind word matters. Honesty matters. Candor, personal responsibility, and fairness — they all matter. Because the lifestyle you lead is what ultimately determines how rich and successful you become. Make sure you’re doing the right things.

8.Give up your fear of seeking help:

You can’t succeed alone. If you want to succeed, you must ask for help. Let me be clear, asking for help does not mean asking others to do your push-ups for you.

Be confident about your need for asking for help.

Reach out to entrepreneurs, practitioners, and people with skills you need to succeed.

9.Give up on your need to make every one happy:

Trying to make everyone happy is a sign of weakness. You could have the best product in the world and some customers will still be upset. You could have the greatest customer service and some clients will be unhappy still. And, that’s OK.

10.Give up on your fear of the unknown:

Successful people are always ready to face the new upcoming and surprises while they try hard towards their success. They  are never afraid of the unknown.

11.  Give up your Vulnerabilities:

We are all vulnerable. Even if you deny it, you are vulnerable. The difference between someone who succeeds and someone who fails is the way they handle their vulnerabilities.
